Science Discussion
Leader/contact: Margaret R
The group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 10am - 12 noon in a member's house.
The group aims to encourage the knowledge and interest in science, technology and
engineering and any member interested in these areas is most welcome to join us. Meetings
discuss topics of current interest and we have often used the Zoom talks presented by the
national U3A science section to get us started. Sometimes members may offer to research
and prepare a talk on a subject of interest and we try to plan visits to places of interest when
possible, for example the Francis Crick & Welcome Institutes. We have also tried to include
a practical activity, for example using a microscope or building a simple circuit to
demonstrate magnetism (to our grandchildren!).
We meet from 10am to 12pm on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, usually in a member’s house.
