Groups - an introduction

Activity and Study Groups are the lifeblood of u3a. Whatever your interests u3a gives you opportunities to enjoy them with others, to develop new interests and skills and to have fun!

We have a wide variety of groups and you can explore them using the interactive list below. You can click on Subject, Category, Day of the week or Venue to filter the list and then click on the name of the group to find out more about an individual group.

You must be a u3a member in order to take part in our interest group activities. This is essential to ensure that your participation in our activities is covered by the u3a’s insurance. Contact numbers for Group Leaders and full details of times and venues are PROVIDED TO MEMBERS ONLY (for data protection). This information appears in every issue of our newsletter In Touch or you can ask Groups Liaison using the contact form on this website.

It is difficult for us to keep track of which groups have spaces so we invite you to enquire with the group leader for an update. If the group is full they may add you to a waiting list. Or you can let Groups Liaison know and we will try to start another group.

All activity groups are self-financing and you may be asked to pay a small subscription to cover refreshments, venue hire or other costs. The amount varies depending on the group.
