Chris W our 'In Touch' newsletter Editor is keen to hear from all our group leaders or members of groups as to what activities you are engaged in within your groups. You don't have to be an expert writer just send Chris your information and he can adapt it for the newsletter. Come on, have a go and you never know it may help you recruit to your group! Portia and Linda are our volunteers for Members' Liaison. They assist our members in any way they can and contact new members to ensure that they are finding their way and getting the most out of their membership. They contact and assist members who are not receiving all the benefits from u3a Luton membership and contact new members to discover their interests and advise on opportunities available. They also provide specialist contact details to members who might need special support. We hope you will give them your support especially if they contact you by telephone.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS 2026-27 - for 2026 existing members can renew with out having to complete a form. Members have had extensive guidelines how to renew. For lapsed or new members you will need to complete the appropriate form. The renewal form is available on the contacts page. If you have any queries you can email the membership secretary . u3a National Newsletter
You can sign up for this to be delivered to you via email. Sign up for this under the u3a news tab at the top of the page.
National u3a has a Radio podcast and it is hoped this will become a regular event. You will need to subscribe to the u3a YouTube channel and click the bell to get an alert when the episode is available. The broadcasts look at members' life stories as well as stories from members and groups from across the movement. The link is on the u3a News page button at the top of the page
Did you know that we have a closed Facebook page for our u3a Luton. You have to answer a simple question to join it so if you use Facebook please take a look and join it and contribute to it. It is a private site however and only available to our paid up members. It would be good to get as many of our members joining in as possible. As time goes on Admin will be adding as much as we can to keep you all in touch with what is happening in u3a Luton. Search for U3A Luton to join. You are welcome to write about your group activities and add pictures. Recently, we also have a public facebook page so that those who are not members can see what we are doing.
Some of the information on this page is for fully paid up members only and to access some documents you will need a user name and password which will only be available on request from the webmaster via the contact us page. Your membership will be checked and the details sent to you. This information will be changed frequently for security purposes. By requesting these details, members will automatically undertake not to divulge the user and password information to any third party, which is in line with the GDPR regulations
Will you become a STAR? We need lots! We have now formed a "STAR" (Small Tasks as Required) group where you can volunteer for big or small tasks by joining our list. Please consider volunteering either for the Executive Committee or just to help your leader to share the duties for your group. We also need new member 'buddies' to take new members under their wing at monthly meetings. All you have to do is show them the various things in the meeting hall, have tea/coffee with them and invite them to sit with you.
